Almost everyone has a mattress at home, but everyone doesn’t care about its cleanliness. When a child accidentally urinates, a female aunt accidentally leaks blood stains and some drinks are spilled on the bed, many people think about cleaning the sheets. The mattress is usually blow-dried, but in fact, the stains are not. Treat it cleanly, it’s easy to breed bacteria and mites, so you can’t just dry it! If you don’t know how to clean the stains on the mattress, let the small picture teach you.
1. Vacuum regularly
Vacuum the mattress regularly to prevent the dust from forming stains when the mattress is wet. Notice! To suck close to the surface of the mattress like this, pay more attention to the gaps in the grooves, as many dirty things are hidden inside. Experts tell us that it is usually enough to suck once every time the sheets are changed.
Second, get more sun
The main purpose of getting more sun is to prevent and eliminate mildew. Because the formation of mildew is generally caused by the house being too humid. So we can find a sunny day regularly, take the mattress outside to dry, if there are mildew spots, just wipe it off after drying.
Three, clean stains
We can divide stains into protein stains, oil stains and tannic acid stains. Blood, sweat, and children’s urine are all protein stains, while some colored beverages and tea are tannic acid stains. Let’s talk about how to clean several common stains.
1. Remove blood stains. To deal with fresh blood stains, we have a magic weapon that is ginger. Drop the ginger on the blood stains, then wipe it with a cold-water rag, and then use a dry cloth or paper towel to absorb the moisture, because the ginger will make protein in the process of rubbing with the blood. The stain is loose and disintegrated, and it also has a bleaching function; if it is an old blood stain, we need to change a kind of vegetable-carrot, first add salt to the carrot juice, and then drip the adjusted juice on the old blood stain. And wipe it with a cloth dampened with cold water. Because blood stains contain heme as the main coloring substance, and carrots contain a large amount of carotene, which can neutralize the iron ions in blood stains to produce a colorless substance.
2. Remove stains caused by colored beverages. To remove colored beverages, we can use medical alcohol to wipe, because most of the beverage stains can be dissolved in medical alcohol, but because alcohol can also spread the stain, so use a good absorbent cloth dipped in alcohol to wipe the stain, not Pour the alcohol directly; in addition, use citrus cleaner or vinegar to reduce the degree of stains.
3. Remove urine stains and urine smell. Dip the remaining urine as much as possible, and then spray it on the stain with a special cleaning agent for removing urine stains and damp it dry. After it is completely dry, sprinkle baking soda on the stained area. After overnight, use a vacuum cleaner to clean it. .
4. Non-protein stains. To deal with some other non-protein stains, we can mix hydrogen peroxide and detergent in a ratio of 2:1 evenly, drop a small drop on the stain on the mattress, and then gently wipe it evenly and brush gently with a toothbrush. Let it stand for about 5 minutes, and then wipe it with a cold damp cloth. The stubborn stains are removed! Because the mattress cannot touch water, after using the stain remover, pat the mattress hard and blow it dry with an electric fan. Make sure that the mattress is dry before you can continue to use it.
